About Kathryn Sturrock

I am a civil  marriage celebrant based in Perth.  I have lived, studied, worked, married and had two beautiful children, while living in Perth over the past 34 years. I was married in Kings Park in 1997,  it was a beautiful spring day and I loved having my ceremony outdoors amongst nature.

I finished my Bachelor Degree in Social Work in 1993, and have worked for the past 16 years as a social worker, mainly in psychiatry. This career has given me the ability to listen to people, communicate well, be professional, and to have an understanding of many different cultures and customs.

I attend yoga classes once a week and the gym a few times a week,  therefore I am a fit and healthy woman who is still interested in learning and enjoying life. Currently I am attending TAFE one night a week to learn photography (2010).

I belong to:

the Marriage Celebrants Association Inc and

the Australian Marriage Celebrants Incorporated,

associations that require ongoing professional development, service excellence and adherence to a code of professional and ethical conduct from members.

I will work with you in consultation with you, via email, telephone and personal meetings to ensure your ceremony is what want, whether it is traditional, formal, casual or a little out of the ordinary.

The most common ceremonies are:

• Marriage ceremonies

• Renewal of Vows

But there are other ceremonies that are gradually becoming popular in Australia. These are:

• Entry into adolescence
• Coming of Age Ceremonies
• Significant Anniversaries
• Citizenship
• Graduation

I am committed to providing an inclusive service, and I would be honoured to help you create your personalised, unique  ceremony, and officiate at your special occasion.

Celebrating special milestones with the customs and rituals of your own culture, can be  very important for yourselves and / or your families; I am always happy to learn about different cultures and to include any rituals which are respectful of your culture.

Located in the Northern Suburbs of Western Australia I am close to some of the most beautiful beach side locations and national parks in Australia, for example; The Swan River, Cottesloe and City Beaches, Kings Park, City of Swan all provide a multitude of gorgeous outdoor venues to hold your event. Many of these locations are also close to fantastic Restaurants and Function Centres, for your reception needs.
